OneTime exists so that anyone can check where a photo or video came from, instead of having to take it on trust.

To give digital media a verifiable origin, and to make checking it accessible to individuals and organizations alike.
The problem we work on
Seeing used to be a reasonable basis for believing. Today a convincing image can be generated in seconds, and authentic footage is routinely stripped of its context. What is missing is not more opinions about media, but evidence about where it came from.

Limited, accurate claims
We verify origin and provenance, not the truth of content, and we say so every time.
Privacy by design
OneTime stores provenance. Users store their media.
Openness
Open standards, published trust keys and a public witness, so OneTime’s claims never depend on OneTime alone.
Where we are going
Core verification is intended to be free for individuals, with services for newsrooms and institutions alongside it.
